Job Description:
GSUMC seeks a positive "whatever-it-takes" full-time Director of Worship Arts who has skill sets in both uplifting traditional and cutting edge contemporary worship.
Bonus opportunity to serve a mile and a half from the most beautiful beaches in the world. This individual will be responsible for assisting in organizing and leading a minimum of three weekly worship services for a multi-generational, 1000 member church. A diverse and outstanding music program is already in place and offers a wonderful opportunity to reach new heights. A generous compensation package will be provided that is commensurate with abilities, education, and experience.
Responsibilities include:
Direct and mentor a talented choir and contemporary worship team
Leading and overseeing a concert series, special seasonal services, and the audio, visual, and creative arts components of worship
Managing the Children and Youth music ministries
Recruiting, training and mentoring participants for the music programs
Leading and directing large choir and orchestra for special events/worship experiences
Characteristics and/or Skills include:
Committed Christian
Outstanding character, integrity and humility
Excellent musical background with vocal and instrumental skills
Proven leadership and communication skills
A strong work ethic
A collaborative, team-style of ministry
Experience with audio visual multimedia and relevant computer skills
An understanding of how music can reach out and touch the hearts of 21st century people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ
